~ ALL DRIVERS CARRYING DANGEROUS GOODS within the scope of The Carriage of Dangerous Goods Regulations require a Vocational Training Certificate (VTC) issued by D.V.L.A. The VTC is issued once a driver has satisfactorily completed an approved course.



~ SQA APPROVED CENTRE delivering ADR Training throughout the United Kingdom and are the only ADR and LGV Training Centre in Fife.



~ NATIONAL DANGEROUS GOODS TRAINING CONSORTIUM members – we deliver High Quality Courses with Experienced Instructors.



~ THERE IS A NATIONAL SHORTAGE OF ADR DRIVERS and rates of pay can be in excess of £15 per hour. Perhaps you would like to upskill from Cat 'C' licence?



~ INDIVIDUAL LEARNING ACCOUNT funding accepted for individuals with up to £200 available to use towards your course. Visit 'My World of Work' for further information.



~ FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE is available for companies from Skills Development Scotland. Visit their website to see if you qualify.



~ DRIVER CPC (28 HOURS) can be attained through attending the Initial Training Course.

ADR COURSES DELIVERED



~ INITIAL ADR COURSE SYLLABUS - 5 DAYS – 6 EXAMS ~



CLASS SPECIFIC

(TEST A CLASSES: 2 Gases, 3 Flammable Liquids, 6 Toxic & Infectious Substances ,8 Corrosives &

TEST B CLASSES: 4 Flammable Solids, 5 Oxidising Agents & Organic Peroxides ,9 Miscellaneous)

1. To make drivers aware of the specific hazards arising in the carriage of

dangerous goods in classes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 & 9;

2. To give them basic information indispensable for minimising the likelihood of an

incident taking place;

3. To enable them to take measures which may prove necessary for their own

safety and that of the public and the environment should an incident take place;

4. For limiting the effects of an incident;



COMMON CHARACTERISITCS

1. To make drivers aware of the specific hazards arising in the carriage of

CORE

1. To make drivers aware of hazards arising in the carriage of dangerous goods;

4. For limiting the effects of an incident;

5. To demonstrate drivers’ competence through the use of individual practical

exercises covering:

a. Basic Emergency First Aid;

b. Fire Prevention;

c. What to do in case of an incident or accident.



PACKAGES

The specific additional provisions applicable to the use of packages and/or bulk.

1. The specific requirements of the vehicles.

2. The procedures to be followed in relation to the operation of packages and/or

bulk.

3. The behaviour of vehicles, packages and/or bulk on the road, including

movement of the load.



TANKERS

The driver’s knowledge and skills necessary in their core operational duties

1. The practical application of specific health and safety techniques

2. The preventative and safety measures appropriate to the various types of

hazards in Classes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9

3. The specialist knowledge and skills necessary for drivers of vehicles carrying

dangerous goods in packages and/or bulk
